Ministries

Children

Our ministry with children is guided by the understanding that all children are a gift of God. We share in affirming that all children are:

Created by God and created good;

All children are a gift to the whole human community;

All children have a real faith and gifts for ministry;

All children have the right to be children;

And all children are not just tomorrow, but they are today.

Children are always welcome to stay for the entire worship service. We have provided activity bags by each entrance to the Sanctuary with Bible story books, activity pages, and other quiet activities, and we invite all children to come forward during our Time With Children before the sermon at the 11:00 service.

Nursery

Our nursery is available for children birth through 4 years old from 8:30am to 12:00pm on Sunday mornings and is staffed by wonderful childcare professionals, as well as church volunteers. Upon checking in, parents will be given a pager that will vibrate if parents are needed during the service.

Godly Play

Godly Play is our Sunday School curriculum for children ages 3 through 5th grade. It meets from 9:30 - 10:30am on Sunday mornings September - May, in the Children's Assembly Room on the second floor. It is based on Biblical storytelling and allows children to enter into the story with wonder and awe, and to engage with the story through creative play. More information on the Godly Play program is available here.

Sunday Evening Fellowship/ Children's Choir & Art

Sunday Evening Fellowship meets on Sunday evenings at 5:15pm. In choir, we'll practice music to perform during church services. In art, we'll learn all about God's neverending love for us.

The adult class meets during choir and art. Nursery for 3 and under is provided from 5:15 pm. A potluck dinner concludes the evening from 6:15-7:15 pm.

Parents Night Out

Four times throughout the year, we hold a Parents Night Out on a Friday evening from 5:30 to 9:00pm. Parents are invited to drop the kids off at church for a fun evening of crafts, games, and movies. Dinner is provided, and the nursery is open for infants - 3 year olds. There is no charge, and you do not need to be a church member to participate.

Baptism

We rejoice whenever our church family grows by birth or adoption! Our pastors are anxious to meet with families to share our understanding of the meaning and responsibilities of the sacrament of baptism and to make plans to welcome our newest members. Contact Jim Stewart for more information regarding baptisms.

Safe Child Policy

Our church strives to make sure each child feels welcomed, loved, and safe in our building and in our programs. We are a "Safe Sanctuaries" church and all our staff and volunteers are background checked and participate in an annual child-safety training program.
