WHY GIVE

We give out of gratitude to God for all that God has done for us in the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus.  Your tithes and offerings support the work of God in and through our congregation. Some can only give a little ... others can give much more.
Prayerfully consider how God wants you to give.

The Legacy Fund

The Legacy Fund is an endowment fund which has been set up to allow all members of the congregation to support The Presbyterian Church of Danville for generations to come.  We recognize what others have done before us to enrich our encounter with Jesus Christ and wish to continue that support for future generations.

The fund was formed to provide a simple, convenient way for people to make special contributions both during their lifetime and also by including their church in their planned giving.  Any amount is welcome. Instead of creating a private foundation donor's gifts are pooled in one endowment fund.  Each year a percentage of the endowment, determined by the Session and the Executive Board of the Legacy Fund.

In recognition of the different interests of prospective donors, there are a number of different ways donors may designate their gifts. They include Capital Funds (Building and Maintenance); Local Mission (in Kentucky); World Mission (outside Kentucky); Youth Ministry; Music Ministry; College Ministry; Camp Burnamwood; and an undesignated account (distributed according the Session Formula).

The John Knox Club

The John Knox Club is a group of people who have expressed their intent to support the future of The Presbyterian Church of Danville through special gifts or by the inclusion of The Presbyterian Church of Danville in their Planned Giving. To promote and encourage their intent, they gather for an annual banquet each year. Lifetime membership in The John Knox Club is $100 per person and includes the banquet each year for their lifetime.

All questions and concerns should be directed to the Church's Volunteer Development Officer: Don W. Porter, by appointment, 859-324-5020 or dwporter2@bellsouth.net.
